US Puts Morocco on Its “Very High Risk” List

The United States classified Morocco, on Monday, August 23, on the list of “very high” epidemiological risk countries and advised travelers not to go there in the current context.

Initially, the US’ Centers for Disease Control (CDC) put Morocco on its Level 3 high-risk list in early August, before upgrading it to Level 4 “Very High” risk list on August 23. It also advised anyone who needs to travel to be fully immunized.

To enter the “level 4: Very high Covid-19” category, destinations must have recorded more than 500 cases per 100,000 inhabitants in the last 28 days. While level 3, applies to destinations that have recorded between 100 and 500 cases per 100,000 inhabitants in the last 28 days.

The same list (level 4) includes the Bahamas, Haiti, Kosovo, and Lebanon.
