The 8th edition of the national Ana Maghribi.a short film competition is launched under the theme “Women in the Future: imagining equality”.

The French Institute of Morocco, in partnership with Crédit du Maroc and Jawjab, is launching the 8th edition of the national Ana Maghribi.a short film competition. Young people under 30 are invited to shoot a short film of fewer than 90 seconds on the theme “Women in the Future: Imagining Equality”. This theme invites everyone to break with codes and appropriate the future through an anticipatory narrative to think about gender equality and denounce the inequalities that threaten the balance of our societies of tomorrow, such as explains the French Institute in a press release. Go in search of new universes to highlight the violence of our daily life, to question the framework of our societies.

Candidates have until November 28 to submit their videos on the website They will be judged by a jury made up of cinema and audiovisual professionals chaired this year by the Franco-Moroccan director and screenwriter Sofia Alaoui, known for the film “So What if the Goats Die”, César for the best short fiction film of 2021. At her side, we find the interpreter Meryem Aboulouafa, the actress Oumama Ouaghou, the deputy general manager of JawJab Younès Lazrak and the communication director of Crédit du Maroc Mouna Benrhanem. Five prizes will be awarded: three Jury prizes, Crédit du Maroc prize and Institut français du Maroc prize.
