Woman Gives Birth at Mohammed V Airport During a Layover

A 27-year-old unaccompanied woman from Equatorial Guinea gave birth on Saturday, July 16 at Casablanca Mohammed V airport during a layover. The young woman was heading to Madrid.

According to MAP, the little girl was born “in very good conditions”. In detail, the young woman experienced the first labor contractions at 12:52 p.m., while she was in the departure lounge, indicates an airport source.

At 12:44 p.m., firefighters and members of the National Airports Office (ONDA) emergency medical unit intervened to evacuate the young mother to the emergency medical unit at Mohammed V airport, where she gave birth to a baby girl.

According to the same source, the mother and the baby “are doing well and are in very good health”.
