“Trees for the Planet”, an initiative of the Azura Foundation

Written by FDM

On the occasion of the celebration of World Earth Day on Thursday, April 22, the AZURA Foundation reiterates its commitment to the planet through a new initiative “Trees for the Planet”, to promote biodiversity in the Province of Chtouka Ait Baha.

This operation made it possible to plant more than 6,800 fruit trees (olive trees, argan trees, carob trees, pomegranate trees, and fig trees) from April 8 to 10. Thus, 5,192 plants were made available to beneficiaries in the rural commune of Ait Milk. The operation also resulted in planting 1,400 trees in Azura farms and 225 in 8 primary schools in the province.

As a reminder, the Azura group has been developing an eco-responsible approach for more than 10 years and acts on a daily basis to reduce its environmental footprint by working on all aspects of its production chain. The group has thus rationalized the use of water resources, halved the weight of its packaging, and improved the process of reuse and recovery of its waste with a view to 100% recycling by 2025.
In 2020, Azura has become the first tomato producer, supplier to mass distribution, to become 100% carbon neutral in all of its operations, from its farms to consumers’ plates.
