With his film, “Haut et fort”, the director Nabil Ayouch participates for the first time in the official competition of the Cannes Film Festival.

The film will be screened this Thursday evening at 9 p.m. at the Grand Théâtre Louis Lumière, a legendary venue in the Palais des Festivals de Cannes, in the presence of its team.

On the eve of the film’s screening, Nabil Ayouch released the trailer of “Haut et fort”, whose action takes place in Sidi Moumen, a highly sensitive popular district in Casablanca. The fiction tells the story of young people determined to fully live their passion while freeing themselves from certain heavy traditions.

The film is “in line with the work of observation and introspection close to the field that Nabil Ayouch has been carrying out for years on each of his films. An approach that he particularly likes since this last film was born with the participation of the young people of the cultural center “Les Etoiles de Sidi Moumen”, created by the Ali Zaoua foundation in 2014 ” recalled a press release.

Directed and written by Nabil Ayouch, in collaboration with Maryam Touzani for the writing, the film is a tribute to Moroccan youth, and is performed mainly by Anas Basbousi, as well as Ismail Adouab, Meriam Nakkach, Nouhaila Arif, Abdou Basbousi, Zineb Boujemaa, Soufiane Bellali, Mehdi Razzouk, Amina Kannan, Samah Barigou, Maha Menan, Marwa Kniniche, Marouane Bennani and Abderahaman Errahmani.
