Moroccan actress Sandia Tajeddine won the Best Actress award at the ninth edition of the Jordan International Film Festival.

Sandia won the award for her role in the Moroccan film “ Al Ala” (The Machine), directed by Oussama Alaoui, jointly with Jordanian actress Rakin Saad for the movie “Karuka”.

The Moroccan film “Al Ala” or “Dactilo”, according to its director, tells the story of a young man named Ismail who took over the management of his father’s “public clerk” store after his death.

“Sandia’s story in the film represents the story of hundreds of Moroccan village women in the nineties of the last century, whom all sort of connections between them and their loved ones were cut, whereas she still remains faithful to her husband who’s away to make a living.”
