“Redemption Day” by Hicham Hajji soon in Moroccan cinemas

Filmed mainly between Ouarzazate, Marrakech, and Casablanca, “Redemption Day” by Hicham Hajji, will be released in theaters in Morocco on December 15th. The feature film was released last January in the United States and has just been awarded in Cana

“Redemption Day won Best Actor for Andy Garcia and Best Thriller at the Montreal Independent Film Festival,” the film’s director Hicham Hajji wrote on his Twitter account.

This feature film is in a way an American production that brings together several figures of the seventh art like Gary Dourdan, Andy Garcia, Serinda Swan, Samy Naceri as well as rising stars like Brice Bexter El Glaoui and many others.

The feature film tells the story of a famous American archaeologist (Serinda Swan) who travels to Morocco after the discovery of the oldest human bones, in the region of Youssoufia. Her research, therefore, leads her to the Algerian border, where she is kidnapped by a terrorist group, her husband will do everything to try to save her.

Remember that this first feature film by Hicham Hajji was also awarded in the “Best film” category at the Manhattanhenge Film Festival in New York in August 2020.
