The “Girls and roses” team made up of Assia Faraoui Santana and Karine Blanchard are still at the top of the ranking, having won the 4th and the penultimate stage of the “Sahraouiya” women’s solidarity raid, which takes place from March 13 to 20 in Dakhla, under the high patronage of HM King Mohammed VI.

The 4th challenge started with a 10 km orienteering race, followed by a 6 km mountain bike race, followed by a 3 km canoe exercise.

The winning team confided in a statement to the MAP that they were able to overcome all difficulties thanks to motivation and dedication to their goal, even if the current was not playing in their favor in the canoe test which was very hard.

“This challenge was very difficult, but crowned by the beautiful feeling of accomplishment, especially when you know that you are fighting for a noble cause,” they said.

Assia and Karine defend in this competition the Moroccan association “Les amis du ruban rose”, whose main objective is to support women suffering from a disease or breast cancer.

The “Malwanda” team, made up of Rwandan Ernestine Umubyeyi and Malian Aichata Ousmane Jattara, came in second. They support the “Dream Role Foundation” in Ghana, which works to help orphaned children and those in difficult circumstances.

The duo “Gazelles in the city” came third. The team is made up of Sihame Fakir and Nadia Rioland, who compete for the benefit of the “Sport dans la ville” association which ensures the establishment and supervision of sports centers in difficult neighborhoods.

Organized by the association “Lagon Dakhla for the development of sport and cultural animation” and the Dakhla Attitude group, this 100% female challenge brings together for this 7th edition teams from different regions of Morocco, but also from Africa and from Europe.
