“Queen Blood”, a dance show where hip hop and femininity meet

Written by FDM

On June 7 at the French Institute of Meknes, “Queen Blood”, an exclusively female dance group will take the stage,  to illustrate the plurality of hip hop dance today.

Queen Blood invites several dancers from the Paradox-Sal group to display their notion of femininity with flowy technical skills. The show kicks off in the shadows, with seven dancers playing the masculine codes of hip-hop, then emancipating to the light, free and proud. With the energy of lionesses, they shine with exceptional technicality and the freedom of impulsive street dance.

Queen Blood carried by the choreographer Ousmane Sy is an intimate and vibrant combination of paths and personal experiences of each of them. This choreography received the 3rd prize and the technique prize of the 2018 Extended Dance competition, organized by the Théâtre de la Ville – Paris and the Musée de la Danse – Rennes, in partnership with the Fondation d’entreprise Hermès.
