The British organization With and For the Girls (WFG) rewarded the Moroccan association Project Soar with an envelope of USD 50,000 at an awards ceremony in London earlier this March 2020.

Project Soar is a Moroccan organization created in 2013 which helps adolescent girls to develop their leadership skills through an extra-curricular program. The program is now implemented in 42 sites across Morocco. To date, there are 2,120 Moroccan Soar leaders.

For its fourth edition, With and For Girls (WFG) rewarded its annual winners, with its highest award of US $ 50,000 taken by Project Soar in the Education and Leadership category. The Moroccan association was nominated by the World Coalition Girls Not Brides and was selected by WFG from 170 candidates. “Project Soar is very grateful for the WFG award. It was an honor to represent Project Soar and to travel to London to meet WFG and other award winners from around the world. We all work with girls towards a more equal world! Said Fatima Ait Ouknik, Senior Field Coordinator at Project Soar.

As a reminder, the With and For Girls Award (WFG) provides support and funding of up to $ 50,000 to community organizations fighting gender discrimination, inequality, and practices harmful to girls.
