Procter & Gamble (P&G) Maroc is accelerating its commitment to the environment by launching the social and environmental action “Help a family and plant a tree”, in partnership with the food bank and the Carrefour group. The first action took place in the rural region of Demnat and will extend to other regions in the future.
The initiative marks a commitment to environmental protection, and a first step towards the ambition of 100,000 trees set by The Procter & Gamble Maroc group. Indeed, as part of its CSR action plan, P&G gives a lot of importance to forestation, renewable energies, and the environment in general, and makes it a major pillar. And this aligns with the strategic orientation of the Moroccan government, following the Royal directives of His Majesty which make the environment a pillar of investment for the present and the Future of Morocco.
This first action led to several major achievements:
- First, is a solar pumping project, financing the equipment and installation of 26 solar panels and a motorized pump, which will supply drinking water to around 200 families.
- The planting of 1,000 trees around the various schools in the village, promotes a better environment and a better quality of life for children.
- The distribution of baskets for all families, including 8 tons of foodstuffs.
“Help a family and plant a tree” is part of the global #ForestsForGood initiative that Procter & Gamble leads in several countries, as part of its efforts to conserve, protect and restore forests around the world.
Over the next few years, P&G introduced global brands to the Moroccan market, including Ariel, Pantene, Always, and Pampers. Six decades later, Procter and Gamble Maroc continues to provide Moroccan consumers with innovative, high-quality products to meet their most specific needs.
