According to a friend, Mohamed Ali Jr. and his mother Khalilah Camacho-Ali, second wife of Mohamed Ali, were arriving at Fort Lauderdale-Hollywood International Airport on Feb. 7 after a trip to Jamaica.
They were pulled aside while going through customs because of their Arabic-sounding names, according to family friend and lawyer Chris Mancini. they were asked questions such: Where do you get that name? Are you a Muslim? Mohamed Ali’s widow, resorted to showing a picture of her late husband, and was later released. Her son was not so lucky, he stayed two hours at the airport to answer questions from customs officers.
The Ali family, does not intend to stop there. Mancini said he and Ali Jr.’s family are contemplating filing a federal lawsuit, “To the Ali family, it’s crystal clear that this is directly linked to Mr. Trump’s efforts to ban Muslims from the United States,”
