More than a million children aged 12 to 17 received the first dose of the Covid-19 vaccine, as part of the vast vaccination campaign targeting public and private education, traditional educational establishments, and foreign mission schools.

Launched on August 31, this operation is part of the implementation of the recommendations of the Scientific Committee in charge of the National Vaccination Strategy, as well as with the aim of ensuring a safe return to school for students and educational and administrative executives, recalls the Ministry of National Education, Vocational Training, Higher Education and Scientific Research and the Ministry of Health in a joint press release. They also announced the development of some 700 school vaccinodromes against 419 existing ones, in coordination with the local authorities, in order to speed up the pace of the national vaccination operation for this category of pupils.

As a reminder, Morocco has announced the postponement of the start of the 2021-2022 school year to October 1 after it was initially scheduled to start on September 10.
