Mbarka Bouaida, President of the Association of Regions of Morocco

Mbarka Bouaida was elected president of the Association of Regions of Morocco (ARM), during the Association’s General Assembly, held Tuesday in Rabat in the presence of the new presidents of the Regional Councils elected during the elections organized in September 2021.

After the voting operation, the new office is composed of Abdellatif Mazouz (1st vice-president), Rachid El Abdi (2nd vice-president), Omar Moro (3rd vice-president), and Adil Barakat (treasurer), indicated the Association. The Assembly also appointed Abdennabi Biioui as secretary-general and Sidi Hamdi Ould Errachid deputy treasurer, added the same source, specifying that Mohand Laenser, outgoing president, was appointed honorary member.

Laenser presented the main activities organized by the Association during the period 2016-2021 and highlighted the main projects carried out in partnership with the main national institutions while insisting on fruitful cooperation with the General Directorate of Local Authorities.

The Association of Regions of Morocco is an institution created at the initiative of the presidents of the Moroccan regions in 2007, with a view to consolidating the role of the regions and advocating in their favor with the public authorities, within the framework of the implementation of the Royal Project for advanced regionalization, regional development and the establishment of participatory democracy.
