Launch of the “Eye on the Street” video art competition

The American Cultural Association (ACA) is launching in partnership with the United States Embassy in Rabat, the “Eye on the Street” competition.

Organized as part of the celebration of the Bicentennial of the American Legation in Tangier, the competition is aimed at all young people interested in Street Art, urban cultures, and their various expressions.

Open to 18-25-year-olds, this competition invites you to explore the urban environment that surrounds us, to capture the cultural experiences that emanate from it, and to report on the way in which urban artistic practices in Morocco (Hip Hop, Graffiti, murals, urban dance, urban sports, etc.) are inspired by and dialogue with American urban culture. Participants are asked to use their smartphone to make a video lasting 3 to 5 minutes which will express their vision of these cultural interactions.

The format of the film is entirely at the discretion of the participant: Documentary, fiction, portrait, interview, animation, etc.

Deadline for submission of videos: June 22, 2021
Announcement of results: 1 st July 2021.

The participants will be evaluated by a professional jury of urban art and street art located in the United States and Morocco. The jury will assess the script, the aesthetics, and the originality of the video.

Three winners will be announced on July 1, 2021. They will receive a filmmaking kit and their video will be shown in public and shared on social media.
