The U18 women’s national team won the bronze medal at the ITTF-Africa Youth Championships, a qualifying championship for the preliminary round of the Paris 2024 Olympic Games. The players thus won against South Africa (3-1). Another bronze medal was won by the U15 national team which also won against South Africa.
Among the other countries participating in this continental tournament, are Egypt, Tunisia, Libya, Algeria, Ivory Coast, Cameroon, DR Congo, Kenya, Nigeria, Togo, Burkina Faso, and Madagascar.
