Written by FDM

On the occasion of World Food Day which will take place on Saturday, October 16, 2021, Global Diversity Foundation, Moroccan Biodiversity, and Livelihoods Association, dedicated to the promotion of biodiversity and livelihoods, are organizing from October 15 to 31, 2021 the first edition of the Harvest Festival in Marrakech.

The Festival will be a celebration of agroecology, permaculture, and other ways of caring for the land and the environment in Morocco. Particular emphasis will be placed on the “local”. The biodiversity, culture, and gastronomy characteristic of the Marrakech-Safi region will be represented by various speakers, farmers, agricultural cooperatives, artisans, chefs, artists, and creatives of all stripes, in various places in the city and its surroundings.,

The Harvest Festival will be a cosmopolitan celebration aimed at strengthening links and exchanges between the various foreign residents of Marrakech and the urban and rural communities of the region. It will also be an opportunity to promote locally, nationally, and internationally the local products of the High Atlas cooperatives through events designed for all audiences, age groups, and backgrounds.

The Harvest Festival 2021 aims to become an annual event celebrated every October as well as a launch pad to future events related primarily to agriculture and biodiversity during the year.
