“Hamidi, here and now” at Gallery 38

The works of the Moroccan artist Mohamed Hamidi will be displayed until January 10, 2022, at Gallery 38. An exhibition entitled “Hamidi, here and now”

In collaboration with the artistic promotion company Kulture Art Média, Gallery 38 hosts the personal exhibition of the Moroccan artist Mohamed Hamidi entitled “Hamidi, here and now» bringing together a collection of unpublished paintings and sculptures, all produced during his residency at the gallery, especially for this exhibition event.

Born in 1941 in Casablanca,  Mohamed Hamidi is a major figure in the visual arts of the Moroccan postcolonial era. His work embodies the history of modern Morocco, as presented by Galerie 38 in a press release, adding that he was a major player in the School of Casablanca, recognized for having offered one of the most successful aesthetic models of the postcolonial era and for having defined a new aesthetic from an ancestral repertoire of forms specific to Moroccan heritage.
