Fez: Training session on inclusive education and autism

The “Mirror for Autistic Children” Association organized a training session on inclusive education and autism last weekend.

Initiated by the association “Mirror for autistic children” in partnership with the Regional Academy of Education and Training of the Fez-Meknes region around the theme of “the principles of organized and individual intervention for autistic people”, a session training was organized and benefited executives working in the field of inclusive education and those accompanying children with autism.

This session is part of the capacity-building meetings that the association organizes, targeting executives from the regional education and training academy and the association as well as civil society actors in the region.

In a statement to MAP, psychologist Awatef El Idrissi pointed out that the training session was an opportunity to emphasize the importance of using images in an expressive way to attract the attention of an autistic child and help him better understand his environment. The specialist recommended, in particular, the organization of the workspace of these children and the schedule so that they can become aware and assimilate the roles and tasks they must perform, also highlighting the importance of communication between support workers and families in order to win the challenge of integrating these children into school and public life.
