Dakar: the film “Annato” by Fatima Boubekdi awarded at the “Les Téranga” Festival

The feature film “Annato” by Moroccan director Fatima Boubekdi won the Grand Prize of the Head of State during the 3rd edition of the “Les Téranga” Festival, organized in Dakar.

“Annato” by Moroccan director Fatima Boubekdi won the Grand Prize of the President of the Republic at the 3rd edition of the “Les Téranga” Festival, organized in Dakar under the theme “Taking your place as a woman through cinema”. A cinematographic meeting was organized by the “Cinema 221” association in collaboration with the Grand Théâtre National de Dakar and other partners.

During this 3rd edition, Morocco, guest of honor, won several prizes in the feature film and documentary categories: “Indigo” by director Selma Bergach won the prize for best feature film and ” Suspended Women” by Merième Addou, the 1st documentary prize.

In addition to the Grand Prize of the Head of State, Fatima Boubekdi won the award for the best photo, the award for the best sound, and the award for the best decor for “Annato”. As for Rachida Saadi, she won the feature film jury prize for “Women of the Pavilion”. “L’appel” by Mariakenzi Lahlou won the 2022 Special Prize for Innovation from UNICEF. The organizers of the festival also awarded the “Trophy of Honors” to Neila Tazi, president of the Moroccan Federation of Cultural and Creative Industries (FICC), production director of the Gnaoua and World Music Festival of Essaouira.
