Initiated under the high patronage of HM King Mohammed VI until July 28 by the Faculty of Letters and Human Sciences of Ben M’sik, under the Hassan II University of Casablanca, the 34th edition of the International University Theater Festival of Casablanca (FITUC) was launched on Saturday 23 July. The opening ceremony was notably marked by a tribute paid to several theatrical personalities: Moustapha Khalili, Zinat Najem, Nojoum Zohra, and Abdelilah Ajil.
The program includes theatrical performances, training workshops, a scientific symposium, and tributes in different areas of Casablanca, for the benefit of many students from Morocco and elsewhere. On and off the stage, participants from Asia (South Korea, Bangladesh, and Indonesia), Europe (Germany, Italy, Spain), Africa (Cameroon and Senegal), the Arab world (Tunisia, Egypt, and Sultanate of Oman), and South America (Uruguay and Mexico), in addition to the United States and Morocco.
For this edition, seven workshops will be organized, with the great challenge of presenting, after three days of training, a theatrical performance on the last day of the festival.
