The Barceló Tanger Gets a Facelift and Unveils its New Setting

Written by FDM

After a soft opening in July, the historic and mythical Barceló Tanger celebrated its official reopening on September 15, 2022,  thus becoming the new essential address in the city.

With luxury, refinement, and comfort, as new credentials, the Barceló Tanger is inviting us to embark on a one-of-a-kind getaway, between land and sea.

More than 20 million euros have been invested by the Barceló Group hotel chain to breathe new life into its Tangier establishment dating from 1950. The new setting has been designed to meet the demand for hybrid tourism, highlighting both the many treasures of the city and its rapidly developing business center.

A strategic location

Located in the heart of the city, facing the Mediterranean, the Barceló Tanger hotel offers its residents a prime location, close to all amenities (airport, train station, port) and the main tourist sites (Kasbah Museum, Caves of Hercules, Cape Spartel…).

Additionally, the establishment enjoys a breathtaking view of the bay of the city, almost giving the impression of being on board a boat. The 200 rooms have all been decorated in shades of blue, reminiscent of the color of the sea. The space has been arranged in such a way as to offer an experience of total relaxation: whatever the type of accommodation chosen (Deluxe Rooms, Deluxe Frontal Rooms, Premium Rooms, Premium Frontal Rooms, Family Rooms, or Junior Suite), each unit guarantees comfort, serenity, and practicality thanks to the use of noble materials and the provision of a large range of services.

This state of well-being continues in the hotel Spa where various treatments are offered, as well as in the fully equipped gym. Finally, in addition to the long stretches of white sand that border the hotel, residents can also enjoy the tranquility of the swimming pool to sunbathe or simply relax.

A cuisine rich in flavors

In terms of gastronomy, here again, the Barceló Tanger invites us to travel. The hotel offers an à la carte restaurant, a buffet restaurant, and four bars where Moroccan and Spanish flavors are in the spotlight. The Azurita table offers a deliciously refined fusion of culinary specialties from both countries, while the BellaVista restaurant prides itself on providing organic, seasonal, and local foods for healthy and balanced gastronomy.

There is also a wide selection of tapas at the Breeze Pool Bar, located by the swimming pool, at the Blue Lobby Bar, offering a panoramic view of the Tangier corniche, at the Champs Sports Bar which will bring together sports enthusiasts as well as at B-Heaven.

A large-scale MICE space

With the aim of becoming an essential business address in Tangier, the new Barceló hotel has equipped itself with an event space that can be divided into 4 independent rooms and can accommodate up to 600 people. Ideal for organizing any type of meeting, conference, or event.
