The Abla Ababou gallery organized, on Thursday, September 22, a meeting with the writer and journalist Bahaa Trabelsi around her seventh and latest novel “Dialogue joyeux avec un mort” (Joyful dialogue with a dead person).
Published by La Croisée des Chemins, this book tells the story of Inès, an ambitious young woman who cares about controlling her destiny in a rational and reasoned way. She thinks that will and determination are enough to control existence, according to quasi-mathematical criteria. She is neither superstitious nor gullible. Inès has a visceral need to understand and analyze everything that happens to her. This is without counting on the magic of providence. An imminent death experience will prove to her that she will have to reckon with what she does not master, divine laws, unconditional love, and the magic that results from it. She embarks on an adventure that will lead her down uncharted paths and an improbable future.
Bahaa Trabelsi is an author and journalist who has several books to her credit, including “A Woman Simply” and “Slim”. In particular, she received the Ivory Prize for African literature of French-speaking expression in 2014 for her book “Parlez-moi d’amour!” and the Sofitel Tour Blanche Literary Prize in 2017 for “La chaise du concierge”.
