Asmae Adnani won first prize in the eighth edition of the Ana Maghribi International Short Film Competition organized by the Institut français du Maroc in partnership with Crédit du Maroc.
Winners of the eighth edition of the Ana Maghribi.a International Short Film Competition have been revealed. The event organized around the theme “Women in the Future: Imagining Equality” by the French Institute of Morocco in partnership with Crédit du Maroc, was held on Thursday, December 16, 2021, at the French Institute in Casablanca.
The film “JUSTITIA” by Asmae ADNANI won the first prize, “2131 Miladiya Moutasaoune” by Oualid OUALHI came second and the third prize went to “The exception” by Othman ZITOUNI. The special prize from the French Institute of Morocco will allow Kawtar WADDI, who presented the film “The Prince and the Princess”, to spend a 10-day internship at the ENS Lumière in France as an introduction to scriptwriting.
The jury, chaired this year by the Franco-Moroccan director Sofia Alaoui and composed of the performer Meryem Aboulouafa, the actress Oumaima Ouaghaou, the deputy director-general of the creative studio JawJab Younès Lazrak and the communications director of Crédit du Maroc Mouna Benrhanem, had to decide between fifty films.
The competition launched on October 25 and closed on November 28, 2021, tackled the theme “Women in the future: imagining equality”. The winners were able to explore this notion from a personal or collective point of view by committing to defend the change they want to see in the world of tomorrow.
