African Swimming Championships: Morocco wins gold and bronze

On the first day of the African Swimming Championships, Morocco won its first gold and bronze medals.

Morocco has won its first medals at the 14th edition of the African Swimming Championships taking place in Accra, Ghana, from 11 to 17 October. Indeed, Bahajoub Meryem, Garnoussi Sofia, El Gamah Sawsane, and Alaoui Inass won bronze in the women’s 4x200m freestyle relay event. On the men’s side, Hamza Benhalima captured gold in the 50m backstrokes and bronze in the 200m freestyle for juniors.

Roughly fifty countries are participating in the African Swimming Championships in Ghana, which is hosting for the first time in its history this biannual event organized by the Confederation of African Amateur Swimming (CANA).
