The Reading Network in Morocco announces the call for applications for the 7th edition of the National Reading Prize (2021).
Organized with the support of the Ministry of Culture, Youth and Sports and in cooperation with the regional delegations of the Ministry of National Education, Vocational Training, Higher Education and Scientific Research, the 7th edition of the National Reading Prize has just been launched. The call for applications was announced by the Reading Network in Morocco which organizes this event whose objective is to consolidate the act of reading within society, as the organization explains in a press release. And to specify that its mission is “to anchor the habit of reading in citizens, starting from the conviction that reading represents the gateway to the world of knowledge which remains the main lever of any development”.
The competition is open to people aged 8 to 26, submitting a list of books, in their preferred language, read during the year 2020 including the titles of the books, the names of their authors, and a written creative text ( by the participant) in the form of a synopsis to a novel or a short story. The competition takes place in four stages, the first is carried out at the level of schools (November 16-30) then at the provincial level (December 14-30), regional (January 01-15, 2021), and finally national (16-23 January 2021). Eight prizes will be awarded to four age categories according to school level (primary, college, high school, and university).
