Operation Marhaba, launched under the aegis of the Mohammed V Foundation for Solidarity, began on Sunday, June 5 with the arrival of hundreds of Moroccans from around the world.
This edition, it should be remembered, is marked by the inclusion of Spain on the list of departure countries, after a year of suspension due to the diplomatic quarrel between Rabat and Madrid. Thus, the reception system will be set up in Morocco, France, Italy, and Spain. Two new reception sites in Morocco will also be opened to support the return of members of the community whose attendance forecasts are expected to be significant. According to a press release from the Mohamed V Foundation, twenty-three reception areas have been activated.
The 17 operational reception sites in Morocco are located in the ports of Tanger Med, Tanger Ville, Al Hoceima, and Nador. Among the sites, there are also the entrances to Bab sebta and Bab Mellilia, the airports of Casablanca Mohammed V, Oujda Angad, Agadir Al Massira, Fez Saïss, Marrakech Menara and Tangier Ibn Battouta as well as in the Mediterranean rest areas, Jebha and Tazaghine.
This year, two new sites were opened at Rabat – Salé airport and at M’Diq (Smir) in the form of a rest area. Abroad, the 6 Marhaba areas are located at the European ports of Genoa, Sète, Marseille, Motril, Almeria, and Algeciras.
