Fall trend alert: The Djellaba coat

Not to cut your summer mood short, but it is time to start thinking about your fall wardrobe, and more specifically about the rising “Djellaba coat”.

Staying in both the bohemian mood and the Moroccan inspiration, a piece that we have seen more than once on the runways of the latest fashion weeks; both ready-to-wear and couture is the “Djellaba coat”. A sophisticated unassuming outerwear garment, which mixes a traditional coat cut with the Moroccan (mostly male) djellaba esthetic, and that looks effortlessly chic and too hard to resist.

Granted that this new trendy piece has been presented by two major fashion designers, both of Moroccan descent; Alber Elbaz for Lanvin and Bouchra Jarrar, however that does not mean that it wouldn’t attract fashionistas and trendsetters from around the world.
