The Council of Government approved the draft decree 2.20.300 extending the state of health emergency in Morocco, until May 20, in an exceptional meeting on Saturday, April 18.

As part of strengthening the preventive measures to combat the spread of the novel coronavirus and taking into account the epidemiological situation of the Kingdom, the public authorities have decided to extend the state of health emergency until May 20, 2020, indicate the Interior and Health Ministries in a joint press release.

All the precautionary and repressive measures, from the first stage of the state of health emergency, always remain in force during this additional period while adapting them whenever it is necessary and this for the protection of citizens’ health, said the same source.

As in the previous month, the competent services will continue their actions to guarantee an adequate supply meeting the consumption needs of families in food products, medicines, and all necessary products, including the needs of the holy month of Ramadan, with the mobilization of all services to ensure regular control and monitoring of the condition of commercial spaces and the efficiency of distribution channels.

As part of the strengthening of national efforts, the public authorities call on all citizens to the need to strictly respect the requirements of this delicate period and to adhere effectively to the implementation of the preventive measures taken, and to collaboration with agents of local authorities and security services, who ensure that they carry out their national duty with firmness and responsibility and apply legal procedures against any individual who deliberately violates the rules in force.
