COVID-19: Morocco reaches 1500 recoveries milestone

Good news. The number of recoveries from COVID-19 in Morocco has reached 1,565 patients as of Monday, May 5th at 10 am. The country has also recorded in the last 18 hours, 97 new cases bringing the total number to 5000 positive cases.

Mohamed Lyoubi, chief of the directorate of epidemiology and fight against infectious diseases at the Ministry of Health indicated, during the daily press briefing devoted to the pandemic situation in Morocco, that the latest statistics showed a rate of 23.7% cure. The number of deaths, meanwhile, reached 177 cases, with 3 new deaths.

The number of cases excluded after negative laboratory test results since March 2 reached 39,076 cases.

The distribution of the number of infections by region remains unchanged. Casablanca-Settat still occupies the first position with 1,306 cases, followed by Marrakech-Safi (1,075), Tanger-Tétouan-Al Hoceïma (710), Fès-Meknès (642), Darâa-Tafilalet (548), Rabat-Salé -Kénitra (364), l’Oriental (175), Beni Mellal-Khénifra (84), Souss-Massa (51), Guelmim-Oued Noun (39), Laâyoune-Sakia El Hamra (4) and Dakhla-Oued Ed Dahab (2).
