# b7arblaplastic, the new hashtag against plastic in the oceans

Written by FDM

The Mohammed VI Foundation for the Protection of the Environment chaired by Princess Lalla Hasnaa, launched the hashtag #b7arblaplastic to combat plastic waste in the oceans. Every year, the waters amass a total of 8 million tons of plastics…

“Soon, there will be more plastic than fish in the sea. Let’s ACT.” This is one of the slogans that can be read on the images broadcasted on social networks via the hashtag #b7arblaplastic launched by Mohammed VI Foundation for the Protection of the Environment chaired by Princess Lalla Hasnaa.

Because as the Foundation pointed out on another shared visual, “plastic waste kills 1 species every 13 minutes”. A catastrophic figure. And a campaign relayed by the NGO WWF which explains, among other things, on its website that “a majority of plastics are used only once before becoming waste (…) Only 9% of plastic waste is recycled around the world. It’s time to really ACT!
