US department store Macy’s to launch hijab-friendly clothing line

Written by FDM

The major U.S retailer Macy’s is set to launch a clothing line of hijab-friendly after teaming up with an Islamic fashion brand to create the ‘modest’ designs.

The new collection was created in partnership with Islamic fashion brand Verona Collection, it features full-coverage, stylish garments, including items like sweaters and long coats that mix modesty with style. It is expected to launch on the Macy’s website on Feb. 15.
Verona Collection was developped in 2015 by Lisa Vogl after she became frustrated with the lack of fashionable modest clothing available for herself and other Muslim women.

Macy’s plans to exclusively carry Verona products for both Muslim and non-Muslim women across the U.S. While it is the first major U.S department store to sell hijabs, it joins numerous brands like Nike offering products catering for muslims.
