Written by FDM

Queen Nefertiti is resurrected. In the next issue of Vogue Arabia, on newsstands on November 1, Rihanna pays tribute to Nefertiti.

Rihanna channels the Great Royal wife of Akhenaten Egyptian pharaoh, who probably had more power than her husband over a 1330 BC before Christ. She is a legendary female icon in Egypt.

Published on Friday, October 27, the cover of the fashion magazine shows a Rihanna wearing Nefertiti’s iconic blue headpiece. And unlike Nefertiti, the pop star reveals her long brown locks and wears a Gucci blue coat.

For a complete dramatic look, Rihanna sports bold blue eye-make up and a shimmering baby pink lipstick as she strikes a pose for the camera. The shoot was undoubtably inspired by the singer’s tattoo of Nefertiti, which she revealed in 2013 February issue of Rolling stones magazine.
