Written by FDM

The Moroccan brand ZYNE is the talk of the town among fashionistas at the moment. In addition to having seduced Meghan Markle during her visit to Morocco last February, this rising brand is now one of the 6 winners of the first edition of the prestigious competition, Fashion Trust Arabia (FTA).

The award ceremony took place in the heart of Doha’s “Fire Station” and brought together a number of celebrities from the world of the fashion and luxury industry, especially to welcome young designers from the MENA region.

The event, chaired by Sheikha Moza bint Nasser, was attended by Imaan Hammam, Victoria Beckham, Olivier Rousteing, Gambattista Valli, Alexander Wang, Zuhair Murad and Diane Von Furstenberg and Carla Bruni, thus composing the prestigious jury of this event.

Recognized both internationally and nationally, –selected among the 30 most talented brands in the Mediterranean– “ZYNE” is a 100% Moroccan brand launched in 2016 by the talented Zineb Britel and Laura Pujol.  The two young women, passionate about shoe design, revisit the babouches (traditional Moroccan slippers) with a lot of class and creativity.

Under their fairy fingers, the traditional babouche has become a haute couture fashion piece.

Two years after its launch, the brand has been hugely successful and has also developed a network of partners with the world’s most influential brands such as Net-à-Porter, Level Shoes, Lane Crawford in Shanghai, Moda Operandi and Bergdorf Goodman At New York. The brand of slippers and luxury mules was particularly noted by Duchess Meghan Markle during her visit to Morocco in February 2019.
