The LVMH 2020 Prize takes the form of a support fund for young fashion designers

Written by FDM

This year, there will be no 7th edition of the LVMH Prize for Young Fashion Designers due to the Coronavirus pandemic. But that does not mean that there will be no support for young creation. On the contrary.

The LVMH 2020 Prize, initially scheduled for June 5 at the Louis Vuitton Foundation, is canceled due to the Coronavirus pandemic. However, the luxury group has decided to distribute the allocation of 300,000 euros (equally) among the eight finalists including the young Franco-Moroccan designer Charaf Tajer who launched his brand “Casablanca”. And that’s not the only announcement made by the fashion house, they also created on the same occasion a Fund aid for young fashion designers, funded by the offer of Prix Karl Lagerfeld 2020 Edition.

“Since its launch, the LVMH Prize encourages and defends young creation, declared Delphine Arnault, Deputy General Manager of Louis Vuitton, in a press release. Each year, it highlights young designers from around the world and supports them in the development of their business. In this difficult context, this Fund for assistance to young fashion designers makes it possible to fulfill the main mission of the LVMH Prize by providing support to our former winners ”. She specified that “this Fund will be intended for all the designers and their brand rewarded by the LVMH Prize for Young Fashion Designers and by the Prix Karl Lagerfeld of the six previous editions, upon presentation of a dossier”.
