Karim Adduchi wins the Amsterdam Culture Business Award 2018

Karim Adduchi’s list of achievements is extending. The Moroccan designer was awarded the Amsterdam Culture Business Award 2018 on June 15th.

Another milestone for the Dutch-Moroccan designer. After being selected last January by Forbes magazine among the 30 promising personalities under 30 in Europe, the fashion beast of Moroccan decent chains distinctions. He was awarded, the past weekend, the Amsterdam Culture Award 2018, during the gala evening of the Amsterdam Business Awards, one of the most prestigious social events in the city.

Karim is known for his social vision of fashion and his commitment to bring communities together , from showcasing his Moroccan heritage under a modern light mixed with eastern fashion, to teaming up with Syrian refugees to create his “She Has 99 Names” collection.

“For me, this award means that my message is heard. I think it’s my responsibility to use the powerful voice of fashion to raise awareness, bring communities together and inspire, just by being myself and showing with pride where I come from and what I’m doing ! ” the designer told HuffPost Morocco.

According to Huffpost Morocco, the young native of Imzouren in the Moroccan Rif, is already working on his new collection. “Through this new collection, I wish to highlight my heritage under a modern era. I explore the duality between femininity and fragility, which I try to translate into silhouettes and patterns. All the while including positive messages and a community spirit that we need more than ever” he told the same source.
