Somali-American Halima Aden is the cover star of the famous sports magazine. Very proud to be part of this special and symbolic number, the model took to her Instagram account to announce this collaboration, specifying that will be released on May 8 in the United States, as you can see in the video at the head of the article.

Don’t change yourself .. Change the GAME!! Ladies anything is possible!!! Being in Sports Illustrated is so much bigger than me. It’s sending a message to my community and the world that women of all different backgrounds, looks, upbringings… can stand together and be celebrated. Thank you so much @si_swimsuit & the entire team for giving me this incredible opportunity.
Halima Aden is a new symbol of the magazine’s attempt to inclusivity. In 2015, Ashley Graham was the first supermodel to pose on the cover of the magazine. Last year Paralympian Brenna Huckaby was the first woman with a disability to be photographed for publication.
