Brazilian beachwear fashion brand Salinas has recently launched its Summer 2016 collection. Inspired by the city of Essaouira, every single piece of the collection is said to be influenced by the local tapestry, spices and nature.
“We went along in this journey called Destiny: Essaouira, Morocco”, explained Salinas about its Summer 2016 beachwear collection. Taking inspiration from the Moroccan coastal city’s crowded beaches and its waves, the mosaics and architecture of the old medina, the giant date palms and the exotic flowers of its gardens, the local tapestry, and the market spices, the whole collection turned out to be a mix of sophisticated classic and sporty beachwear style, all made in fine fabric.
Salinas was created in the 1980’s by its founders Jacqueline and Tunico De Biase, for the stylish women who wanted something different than the beachwear fashion trends of that time. First, inspired by the Rio de Janeiro beaches, the brand has managed to broaden its horizons, not only in terms of its presence in stores in different parts of the world, but also in taking inspiration from beaches other than Brazil’s, including Morocco’s, as it is the case for the brand’s latest creations.
