African fashion will vibrate in Dakhla for the 11th edition of the International Festival of African Fashion (FIMA). It’s been 20 years since its founder and creator Alphadi set up this event that brings together talented designers from all over Africa.And this year, the program has a particularly exceptional tone, as suggested by the designer on November 21, during a press conference a few hours before the opening ceremony of the festival was held for the first time outside of Niger.
“For me, it was only natural to come celebrate the 20 years of FIMA in Dakhla, he declared, since FIMA was born in the desert – Dakhla is the gateway to the desert – and Morocco was the first country to support us “, paying homage to the late King Hassan II and King Mohammed VI for their invaluable support.
On the panel, four guests came for the occasion: Mohamed Laaraj, the Minister of Culture and Communication, Lamine Benomar, Wali of the Oued Eddahab Dakhla region, the famous fashion designer Pathé’o and A’Salfo, the leader of Magic System, a group that also celebrates its 20th anniversary and promises to ignite the FIMA stage at the opening ceremony.
