She’s touring the kingdom and her book pleases. The author and psychotherapist Ghizlaine Chraibi arrives on February 8 at the French Institute of Oujda to present and discuss her latest book “L’Etreinte des chenilles” (The Embrace of Caterpillars), a novel in which women took power.

The author and psychotherapist Ghizlaine Chraibi takes up residence Friday, February 8, at the French Institute of Oujda to discuss her second novel “The Embrace of caterpillars.” In this book, the writer projects us into the future in the heart of Fractalie, a country that looks like Morocco.

Except that, in her imagination (or her prediction), the matriarchal system has dethroned the patriarchal system. But since women have taken power, they control everything: from home to administration to business to the state. As for our dear men, they are simply lost. And love stories are forbidden… Ghizlaine Chraibi depicts a world in which women have taken their revenge. But what an act of revenge!

A novel that encourages reflection. For the author makes us discover a universe where feminine speech is not an automatic synonym for feminism, nor the masculine word a mechanical reference to patriarchal machismo.

Meeting with Ghizlaine Chraibi Friday, February 8, 2019 at 6:30 at the French Institute of Oujda (Free admission)
