Which waters are perfect for a swim in Morocco?

The number of beaches subjected to the National Monitoring Program has been changing for several years, from 79 in 2003 to 169 beaches in 2019, as highlighted by the latest report “Monitoring the quality of the beaches bathing waters in the Kingdom”. A study that simply indicates the better to swim.

169 beaches, including 52 on the Mediterranean coast and 117 on the Atlantic coast, have been carefully examined through the National Monitoring Program. Among them, 62 in the region of Tangier-Tetouan-Al Hoceima, 36 in Casablanca-Settat, 18 in Rabat-Salé-Kenitra.

On a more precise note, the quality of the microbiological bathing water is described as “good” in Saïdia, Cala Iris, Martil, Sania Torres, Tres Piedras and Tangier on the Mediterranean side, as we can read on a map of the national report “Monitoring the quality of the beaches bathing waters in the Kingdom” prepared by the State Secretariat at the Ministry of Energy, Mines and Sustainable Development, in charge of Sustainable Development.

On the Atlantic side, there is Mehdia, Saidi Boughaba, Ain Diab and Ain Diab extension, Sidi Bouzid, Tafadna, Imssouane, Agadir, El Ouatia, Tarouma, or Boujdour. And the authors of the report insist that 98.43% of the Program’s beaches are clean with 1.57% inadequate ones as Jbilate, Ain Atik and Oued Merzeg …
