Two Moroccans dead in Ethiopian Airlines plane crash

Two Moroccans are among the victims of an Ethiopian Airlines plane crash that killed all 157 people thought to be on board Sunday, the airline’s CEO and Kenya’s transport minister said.

The  Ethiopian Airlines plane crashed minutes after it took off from Bole International Airport in Addis Ababa. The crash claimed the lives of all the passengers onboard. The company shared a list of the nationalities of the victims.

According to the list, the victims also include six Egyptians, 32 Kenyans, nine Ethiopians, eight people each from China, the United States and Italy, eighteen Canadians, seven each from France and Britain, five from the Netherlands and four each from India and Slovakia.

The flight, a Boeing 737, was heading to Nairobi from Addis Ababa. It is not yet clear what caused it to go down shortly after takeoff. Ethiopian Prime Minister Abiy Ahmed gave his condolences to the families of the victims.
