This UAE minister entered the Guinness Book of World Records

Shamma Al Mazrui, Minister of State for Youth Affairs in the UAE has entered the Guinness Book of World Records in 2018 as the youngest minister in the world.

Great achievement for the young lady, and at a young age too! According to reports, the UAE-based government official has become the youngest-ever minister, at the age of 23, to be featured in the book of world records.

The title was previously held by Austrian Foreign Minister Sebastian Kurz, who was 27 years-old, and Aida Hadzialic, who was 26 years old when she was previously put in charge of the Swedish Ministry of Education.

According to Guinness, the young Emirati minister was tasked with the youth ministry, at the age of 22, within the government body which Sheikh Mohammed Bin Rashid Al Maktoum, Vice President and Prime Minister of the UAE and Ruler of Dubai, declared in 2016.

Al Mazrui thus became the youngest minister in the world and her tasks are focused on representing youth issues and aspirations in the UAE. is also the Chairman of the Youth Council.

Shamma was born and raised in Abu Dhabi. She has a Bachelor of Arts in Economics from New York University Abu Dhabi. She graduated with a Masters of Public Policy from the University of Oxford in 2015. She was the UAE’s first Rhodes scholar. She certainly has a bright future ahead pf her!
