This time lapse video about Casablanca just won an award

Moroccan photographer Youness Hamiddine has just won the first prize in the “Live your story” contest launched this year by Canon Central and North Africa with a short film about Casablanca.

The big city continues to draw admiration. Indeed the votes were conducted by internet users and the one-minute video titled “In love with Casablanca” won the first place. This competition is dedicated to young filmmakers from the North and Central Africa region.

In the video (above) the photographer has captured the lights, colors and hectic pace of the white city seen through the eyes of a young woman. “With its sunset, its effervescence and its people coming from everywhere, I’m in love with this city,” says the young actress in voiceover. “My love for it makes my soul dance to the symphony of its rhythm”.

Egyptian director May El Hossamy and Nigerian Ifeoma N Chukwuogo won respectively the second and third prize in the contest. The winners were announced on January 16 in Dubai at CABSAT 2018, the audiovisual and broadcast show in the Middle East and Africa. They were represented by three actors from their respective countries, to talk about the film industry. Youness Hamiddine was represented by Moroccan actor Omar Lotfi.
