This Moroccan lady’s performance has seduced the jury of The Voice France

Written by FDM

While the news related to the French edition of “The Voice” was largely marked by the “Mennel affair” , on TF1’s side , the show continues. This week, a young Moroccan lady seduced the jury composed by Pascal Obispo, Zazia, Mika and Florent Pagny.

At the show broadcast this Saturday, February 10, 17 year-old Lilya, a young woman from Rabat and a senior high school student, has performed on the piano “Les feuilles mortes” by Yves Montand, in French and English, with a small oriental intonation to the end, well caught by the jury.

Lilya was then courted by Florent Pagny and Mika. She will eventually choose to join the team pf Mika.

Another Moroccan made quite an impression on the same night. Indeed, the jury fell in love with Moroccan 21 year-old Abdel, who sang by hitting notes in octaves, “Kissing you” of the British singer Des ‘Ree:

Just like his couterpart, Andel’s performance caught the eye of Florent Pagny and Mika. The young singer then  joined the team of Florent Pagny. The show has been in the center of attention recently, after the participation of singer Mennel of Syrian origins. After her mesmerizing interpretation of ‘Hallelujah’ in both English and Arabic, Mennel gained instant fame which soon turned to her disadvantage. Some of her former controversial tweets about terrorist attacks in France resurfaced and were taken ‘out of context’ which has forced her to step down of the show.

In the hopes of one of these Moroccan candidates to join the ranks of Hamza Labyad, winner of The Voice Kids Arabic at one of the international editions of the singing competition.
