The Foundation aims to make the work of Abdelhay Mellakh known and to promote education and awareness of the environment, particularly of childhood in rural areas, said the Foundation in a statement, stating that several activities will be organized for 2018.
For example, the Foundation reports on the installation of a fine arts workshop in Upper Ourika in the summer of 2018, the establishment of partnerships for the construction and running of nursery classes, as well as an ongoing experiment with a middle school in Fez and academics conducting a catalog and several exhibitions, notes the statement.
The production of a small booklet under the title “Racontes moi ta ville, Marrakech” is also on the program. It will be printed with educational actions. Also the planting of trees under the sign: “Plant a tree with a child” which is ongoing in the upper Ourika, and the solicitude of an artist each year to illustrate a children’s book, adds the same source, noting that the position of cultural mediator is an important goal for the 2018 program.
Meanwhile, the exhibition entitled “Mellakh et la magie des lieux” is currently being held at the Mouassine Museum, home of painter Abdelhay Mellakh.
