Three new heroines have joined the “Terre de Femmes” community, each forming a link in an ever larger, ever stronger chain catering for the planet. They are Jamila Bargach, Raowia Lamhar and anoubi Hassania.
Born out of a desire to highlight women committed to the environment and sustainable development, the Terre de Femmes prize, initiated by the Yves Rocher Foundation, makes people happy every year.
This year, the Foundation received several projects for the Terre de Femmes Prize in Morocco. The jury, chaired by Leîla Bensliman, Founding President of the Amis de l’Ecole Publique association (AEP) and General Secretary of the Zahid Foundation (Menara Holding), chose to distinguish three exemplary women who carry an original and necessary project . Three women who spared no effort to give birth and nurture their project with energy and courage.
Jamila Bargach received the first prize for her project From fog to the Earth: Agroecological Initiative for Women by Ait Baâmrane. The second winner is Raowia Lamhar. The young woman is committed to generalizing access to energy sources in the most isolated areas and thus improving the quality of life of the villagers who do not have access to electricity thanks to her Fresh’it project. The third winner of the Terre de Femmes Maroc prize is Kanoubi Hassania, who campaigns to reduce poverty and vulnerability for women in the rural region of Ouarzazate, thanks to environment-friendly farming.
