The Criminal Chamber of the Tangier Court of First Instance delivered its verdict in the case of the rape committed by a 60-year-old man on two sisters aged 8 and 12.

The affair provoked anger and indignation on social networks. A 60-year-old man sexually assaulted two girls aged 8 and 12 before being arrested and brought to justice. Al Akhbar reported in its Thursday, July 18 issue that the Tangier Court of First Instance found the individual guilty of pedophilia, rape and sexual assault on minors and sentenced him to 15 years in prison.

According to Al Akhbar, the case dates back to early June when the mother of the two girls filed a complaint with the police district of Beni Makkada, assuring that the neighborhood shoemaker abused her two daughters. The man would have convinced his two victims to accompany him home while they were passing in front of his business. It’s when he indulged in touching them and caressing the sensitive areas of their bodies. He allegedly even got to have superficial sex with the oldest before threatening to kill them if they report to anyone.

According to Al Akhbar, the two girls were subjected to a medical examination which showed that the bruises on their bodies prove that they were victims of sexual assault. The two victims are among the most studious of their school and have had great results this year. The accused will have to pay the two girls MAD 200,000 of damages.
