Written by FDM

This unique solidarity initiative carried out in partnership with the Arab Fund for Arts and Culture (AFAC) aims to support the musical community in the world, including in North Africa and the Middle East.

Spotify is organized around unprecedented measures to support the global music community in the face of the COVID-19 crisis. In this sense, the platform established the Spotify COVID-19 Music Relief project. Now accessible in North Africa and the Middle East, in partnership with the Arab Fund for Arts and Culture (AFAC), the initiative aims to raise funds to help the most affected artists, with the help of the Artist Support Grant program offered by AFAC.

Spotify COVID-19 Music Relief is a global project that recommends audited organizations offering financial assistance to members of the most disadvantaged music community. Internationally, Spotify has already established partnerships with MusiCares, PRS Foundation, Brazilian Union of Composers, Unión de Músicos Independientes, Help Musicians and many more.

Spotify will donate to NWAC’s Artist Support Grant program to support its fundraising efforts to help artists in this unprecedented time. From the Spotify COVID-19 Music Relief page, Spotify will pay an equivalent dollar-for-dollar amount that can reach a maximum contribution of $ 10 million through partner organizations.
