The young Moroccan singer Soukaina Fahsi marked the opening of the 6th edition of Visa for Music, on Wednesday, November 20, at the Mohammed V National Theater in Rabat.
Soukaina Fahsi’s performance made a sensation. The Moroccan lyricist, composer, and performer has enchanted the audience of Visa For Music through songs inspired by both classical music and popular Moroccan melodies as well as international musical trends (jazz, blues, flamenco, music, African).
In particular, she began her show with her famous “Kharboucha” cover taken from the heritage of “Aita” in front of an enthusiastic public. During the opening night of the festival, the young artist also received the “TV5 Monde Prize”, a reward dedicated to young artists from the Maghreb.
Born in 1993 in El Jadida, Soukaina Fahsi began singing at a young age, before taking her first steps on international stages such as Portugal in 2014 and Cape Verde. The semi-finals of the 2019 edition of “Arabs got talent” have allowed her some exposure in the Arab world.
On Wednesday evening, other artists also took part in the opening show under the sign of femininity, like the star Natacha Atlas who is one of the greatest Arab voices in the world, the Moroccan artist Khaoula El Moujahid known as “Jaylann”, Angolan Lucia De Carvalho and Mozambican Isabel Novella.
